Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and has been helping people from all walks of life, with all types of conditions. Plainly stating, the art of Acupuncture involves stimulating one of many thousands of points on your body, causing the body to reset and change back to a Homeostatic, or balanced state. For example, when you stub you toe, it burns, aches and just plain hurts. However, when there is no injury you probably don’t take much notice of your toes. You never realize you are in pain or having a problem until there is an imbalance. Acupuncture balances your organ systems and meridians so that there is no pain or discomfort. The Acupuncturist then selects the proper points and places a sterile, one time use, thin as a hair needle in that specific point. Immediately your body goes to work. The nervous system, endocrine system and digestive system all start working to balance themselves so the pain, discomfort or whatever else your feeling is resolved. Acupuncture has many different techniques and many points that can be used. To make sure you are getting the best treatment for you, please refer to the training schedule for an Acupuncturist.
